If you’re in the real estate game then you’ll know that your online presence is extremely important.
Here in Australia there are a number of online property marketing and real estate websites you can list your property on, such as RealEstate.com.au or Domain.com.au, and while these sites are well know and attract a lot of visitors, their are a number of downsides as well.
- You are competing against many other real estate’s and agents for the same suburbs.
- You usually can’t capture the audience on your own segmented mailing lists.
- You pay an ongoing fee to list your properties, regardless of if they provide results or not.
- You have very little control over your own search engine optimisation of the listings.
- You can be limited to your integration of promotional marketing
- You don’t have access to full visitor analytics, like you would on your own website.
And while these larger sites have the advantage of promoting across a national directory, they can have a lot of setbacks in terms of flexibility, functionality and SEO, and often you’ll find maintaining your own website can have some major advantages, especially if it is developed correctly.
There are a number of WordPress themes specifically created for real estate websites that can provide you with all the functionality of a full real estate directory, with the added bonus of incorporating a blog and better search engine optimisation functionality.
By using a pre-developed theme to create your website not only reduced your developed time, it also ensures your website looks and acts like a real estate directory, and not a clunky try-hard real estate blog site.
Here are four popular recommended themes to create your ideal real estate website….
A relatively new theme available, FullHouse offers a nice modern real estate website design, with loads of functionality to match any of the largest property websites, for under $60.
SEO friendly, mobile-responsive, and incorporating the powerful Visual Composer page builder, this theme also has a 1-click install function so you can get your site up and running super-fast.
If you are after a quality real estate theme that looks and performs the same as the high-end sites, for a fraction of the cost, this is worth checking out.
WP Residence is one of my favourite themes, and one I have used many times myself on client sites as well as my own website, Prime Luxury Hotels.
This theme is ideal for both a real estate site, or a paid property marketing directory, with the ability to incorporate a lot of customisation into the site. In fact, there are more than 350 theme options available and 11 pre-developed demos to start with, allowing you to give your real estate website a unique look and feel, with loads of functionality.
Aptly named, Real Homes is a WordPress theme that integrates Google Map location markers, Revolution Slider plugin and an advanced search feature, as well as the ability to submit paid property listings, plus an agent login and register. The design of Real Estate is clean, and designed to be well optimised. The site does use a built in page builder for payout, however it is not as user-friendly as the Visual Composer Page Builder plugin that many other mobile-responsive WordPress sites now use.
Still, a very nice theme for property websites.
This is a professionally developed theme that offers multiple templates, and a lot of great functions including geo-location of your visitors, as well as geo-location for searches, and advanced search function, shows similar properties, nearby places and a radius search, plus much more. Integrated with Yelp! For search of other facilities nearby, this is the ideal wordpress theme for those that may be targeting an audience from outside of your region.
So when you’re next looking at your online real estate marketing options, and particularly looking to work them in with good search engine optimisation, email marketing and social media marketing, these themes will be a great starting point for most real estates and property egents of any size.
